After School and Holiday Club

Open for 50 weeks of the year, this is a busy, fun club for the youngsters.  We collect the youngsters from school and bring them to the Centre where they enjoy a snack and activities until collected by 6.00pm.  Contact the Centre on 01334 474140 or email info@cosmoscentre.org.uk for more information

Changes to Dates

Please let us know if your arrangements change - we are spending a high proportion of our time trying to phone parents when a child is not at school for collection.  If a child is on our pick-up list and we have had no instruction from parents to the contrary, then we have set procedures to go through.  So please keep us informed if there is a change of plan. 

If you tend to use emails to advise us of changes to bookings, this is generally fine if you are letting us know with plenty notice.  We reply to the email confirming your request, so please make sure you receive an answer from us. If you don't get an answer, please call to make sure we get the correct information.

May we remind you again that if you wish to make a change or cancellation to a booking for that day, then it is best to phone the Centre on 01334 474140 and speak to a member of staff to ensure that the information is received at our end.  As the Centre is busy throughout the day with groups, sports, meetings and classes we are not always able to check our emails prior to the children's school collections.  So please call us if you are making a last minute change.   

The next days when schools are closed mid-term are Monday 5th May, then Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd June.   We will be open those day from 8.00am until 6.00pm, so if you require any places, then please get in touch with us.  You can generally book full or half days depending on your requirements. 

We would rather that the youngsters did not use their mobile phones while they are at the Club.  Just in case they get misplaced or lost we ask that they are left in the Centre office for safe keeping.  As you will be aware, some of the phones are very expensive - we would appreciate your support on this.

We are looking for some parents to join us at the Centre for a coffee - does that sound too good to be true?  The views, feedback and suggestions of parents are vital to the forward planning of the club.  Whether it is over a lunch time, or early evening, please let Diane know if you can help.

We would like all parents and carers to be assured that our staff team is fully trained in Child Protection and is vigilant at all times in the safety of the children in our care.  Should any child protection issue be suspected, we have strict inter-agency guidelines to follow to ensure that our concerns are noted, with a referral to Social Work only if it was felt necessary.  We trust you will all see these procedures as reassuring as we are acting in the best interests of the children—if you have any queries please do not hesitate to discuss them with Ann, who is our designated Child Protection Officer.

The report is available online on the Care Inspectorate website - we have received many positive comments - please have a look. If you wish a paper copy of the report we will be happy to arrange that for you. Thank you to all the parents who took the time to complete questionnaires from the Care Inspectorate prior to the inspection. We appreciate your support.

If you would like to pay weekly, monthly, by standing order, internet payment, childcare vouchers, tax-free childcare. or any other method of payment, we are flexible, and will try to accommodate parents in whichever way they wish to pay. Just drop in to the office to see Diane or Monika and we can discuss that further with you.
